Staff Wellbeing Project

Staff Are Our Most Important Asset

At Zenith, we are extremely passionate about wellbeing - both physiologically & psychologically - of our team.

For us, free gym passes for all employees or cursory team away day isn’t enough.

We realise that creating an environment where our team feel safe, happy & healthy we can offer the best opportunity for executing better outcome for our clients and more importantly we can positively effect the lives of our team beyond the working environment.

We have pushed the boundaries to ensure our happy work force creates a happy and healthy business so we’re keen to make sure we go a step further for our extremely valued team.

With this in mind, we’ve recently established our company wellbeing program whereby every member of the team will (with their permission) undergo a health check to benchmark where they are and we will continue to invest in them to help create a healthier future for themselves.

Here’s a breakdown of everything that’s included:

Firstbeat™ Life Physiological Screening:

Firstbeat™ Life is a cutting-edge wellbeing solution that combines advanced physiological analytics with personalised insights to enhance employee health and performance. Using heartrate variability (HRV) data, Firstbeat™ Life offers comprehensive assessments of stress, recovery, sleep quality, and physical activity. Our team members will receive tailored feedback and actionable recommendations, empowering them to make informed lifestyle changes for improved overall wellbeing.

Health Screening assessments:

Our health screening assessments provide a thorough evaluation of key health indicators to ensure all team members are on the path to optimal wellbeing. The baseline elements include measurements of heart rate, blood pressure, SP02, body fat percentage, blood glucose levels, hip-to-waist ratio and mental health evaluations, offering a detailed snapshot of overall health.

Additionally, our metabolic gas analysis provides insights into metabolic efficiency, metabolic age, organ health and cardiovascular fitness. To further enhance the health profile, we conduct an advanced blood test that covers 47 different biomarkers, providing an in-depth analysis of nutritional, hormonal, and metabolic status. This holistic approach enables employees to understand their health better and make informed decisions to improve their wellbeing.

Bespoke training sessions:

Our bespoke training sessions are designed to engage the team by introducing them to a diverse range of activities each month. We will tailor each session to promote physical fitness, mental wellbeing, and team cohesion. Activities will range from HIIT to Boxing, ensuring there is something for everyone. Not only do we want to help the team get fit, we also want to help them discover new activities that we hope become long term lifestyle choices.

Dietary advice and guidance:

Our dietary guidance will form an integral component of our team wellbeing initiative, aimed at fostering healthier eating habits and improving overall nutrition. The team will receive personalised nutritional advice based on their individual health assessments and goals. We will provide practical tips and guidance on making balanced food choices that support sustained energy levels, weight management, and overall health. By educating employees on the importance of good nutrition and offering tailored support, we empower them to make informed dietary choices, contributing to their long-term wellbeing and productivity.

The Livewell Syndicate memberships:

Our memberships grant employees access to a range of our wellbeing services at discounted rates, enabling them to invest in their personal health and wellness outside of their employee wellbeing package. Whether they wish to participate in additional training sessions, seek mental health support, access or take advantage of our advanced health screenings, employees can self-fund these services with the benefit of significant savings. This initiative not only enhances the value of our wellbeing programme but also encourages a proactive approach to health management, fostering a culture of wellbeing within the organisation.

Package design:

At The Livewell Syndicate, we believe that if you're not assessing, you’re guessing. We worked with Zenith to create a package that is heavily focussed on gold-standard measures of physical and mental health testing, allowing us to detect early warning signs of any health conditions and act accordingly. 47% of workers in the construction sector said they feel unsupported by their workplace when experiencing ill health, but Zenith have demonstrated by not only seeking a package for their staff, but by investing time and resources in to getting it right, that their staff do not fall in to this bracket.

Managing Director, Calum Preston said: "The wellbeing and safety of our team are my top priorities. Last year, we introduced blood tests for approximately 30 PAYE employees and subcontractors and received very positive feedback.

There were a few adverse findings that required some operatives to seek further professional health advice regarding specific deficiencies identified in their blood tests. Fortunately, they received the necessary guidance, and no further action was needed. This experience was a turning point for me, highlighting the importance of proactive health monitoring.

It inspired me to think about how we can better protect our team by creating an environment where their health is continuously monitored and live data is accessible at the click of a button.

I believe this is the beginning of changing the stigma around health and wellbeing in the construction industry. Unlike traditional programs that place the responsibility on individuals to use a gym membership or make healthcare appointments, we are bringing the gym to them, along with personalised nutritional and dietary support.

This is a unique program tailored to individual needs, not a one-size-fits-all solution.

If it positively impacts even one person or family, the investment in our Zenith family will be entirely worthwhile."

Hello indeed! 👋 😁 👋 This has been a long time in the making and is the result of some really hard work from our amazing team 🙏 The company has been experiencing some really strong growth over the past couple of years and as such we've been looking to venture in to new areas and markets. Once we'd identified our new location at 36 Park Row, Leeds with Northspring it was an easy decision to move there! The rooftop terrace and gym didn't do any harm too... 😜 Read on Linkedin

Zenith are pleased to handover the upper ground floor reception area of Woodbourn Football Hub. Zenith have taken a dis-used and dilapidated building, back to a bright, energy efficient and economic venue for community use as well as specialist football training for our client Sheffield City Council. The main area has been handed over defect free and on schedule. This will provide a great facility that is already taking bookings for both the experimental artificial pitches and recreational space. The work has involved re-roofing, full strip out and install of all M&E facilities along with the internal fit out, soft furnishings, kitchen and feature ceiling. We are sure this will be well used and hopefully develop some stars of the future! Read on Linkedin
